Accommodation

We can offer beautiful accommodation and excellent tuition – onsite here at LITHINON – in our studios, garden, or in the surrounding landscape – living in our accommodation – or coming to us only for tuition and studio space.
We are located in one of the best areas of Crete for access to its landscape, history, mountain walks, archaeology, etc – close proximity to great – and visually stimulating – beaches in the North and South of the island – and of course wonderful tavernas.
We have 2 rental accommodations (The Rabbit House & Amalthea) .
“The Rabbit House”  accommodation is very comfortable, self contained and well equipped for self catering – ideal for those who seek an interesting and cosy environment packed with stimulating artworks. The interior of this old stone building has been created to provide unique self-catering accommodation for a couple with the option of a single sofa bed for a third person.

(Promise – there no longer rabbits in residence!)

You will enjoy the rich colourful interior with original art works and objects.

You have sole use of the equally individual adjacent bathroom.

In “Amalthea” – the larger of our two apartments, we have a completely self contained and self catering space – larger, yet still as quirky and full of interesting artworks – a very special place to stay.

Both are in Kastellos, and in the same secluded walled garden area as our Art studios.

We believe….
Involvement in the Visual Arts encourages and enables those who engage, at all levels of practical experience, to address difficult contemporary issues and their often contradictory messages.  Developing a deeper understanding of the visual world around them, individuals can respond in ways that go beyond what they might have believed possible.  They begin to transcend the merely illustrative and embrace a more profound awareness, not only in their own works, but in their analysis of the work of others.
To achieve these goals, a structured introduction is essential, giving students access to a variety of means by which they can synthesise the visual stimuli to which they are daily exposed.  In each of our classes individuals engage in studies that will give them the practical and analytical means by which to express themselves confidently and creatively.
